Pokémon HOME 4.1.0 expands storage ahead of the Pokémon Bank shutdown

Pokémon HOME is preparing a major update for October 2026. Version 4.1.0 will support Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version, allow Pokémon caught with a GO Safari Ball in Pokémon GO to be moved, and increase the Premium Plan from 6,000 to 9,000 Pokémon at no extra cost.

Pokémon Bank will end service on February 26, 2027. Until then it remains the official bridge from Nintendo 3DS to Pokémon HOME.

What changes in October

No exact day has been announced. The update adds support for both Nintendo Switch games, GO Safari Ball transfers and 3,000 extra Premium Plan slots without a price rise. The official page still lists 6,000.

FireRed and LeafGreen connectivity

Pokémon from Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version will move to Pokémon HOME, where Pokédex progress is recorded.

Completing both Pokédexes unlocks Celebi as a Mystery Gift. A similar reward is Shiny Volcanion for completing Pokédex records. The GO Safari Ball restriction in Pokémon GO remains until version 4.1.0.

Pokémon Bank shuts down on February 26, 2027

Pokémon Bank has not been downloadable since Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS closed on March 27, 2023. Existing users can transfer until February 26, 2027; afterward the official path from compatible older games disappears.

The move requires a Pokémon HOME Premium Plan and is one-way.
